By the way, I think if you go back and carefully read my original posting you will see that I DID mean manifests! I don't understand, other than your complete lack of knowledge of military logistics, how you can still hold to your position about the use of serial numbers on weapons or even then keeping manifests of transactions, shipments, etc. And you work with numbers?? Anyway, I liked your defense of Marshall Ney (one of my heros - "Ride to the sound of the guns!"). Your understanding of the use and limits of history is outstanding.
