The announcement of these new fares came at a display of the Auto-Train equipment in Miami. From 3/1/85 to 6/15/85, off-peak fares for southbound travel is $65 for an adult, $49 for a child, and $99 for an auto. Northbound the fares are $97, $73, and $150. Effective March 1 until further notice, a 30-day round-trip excursion fare of $156, $97, and $239 is available. Sleeping accomodations in either direction are $225 for a bedroom for two, or $100 for a roomette for one. This includes the standard Florida First Class amenities of a hospitality basket, stationary, a bedtime sweet, and a shoeshine, as well as the free buffet dinner with wine, breakfast, snacks, and movies included in all fares. All passengers have access to the Vista-dome cars. Auto train has had an 83% on-time record. -------
