Lines: 18 Another reason for aperture preferred priority (set aper- ture, camera sets shutter speed) is for non-standard lenses whose aperture cam (finger?? gizmo??) is handle lenses not as well made as the manufacturer's. With shutter speed preferred systems, the gizmo in the lens must follow the gizmo in the camera quite accu- rately with no hangup and with no glitches. Also, its linearity must be to same as standard lenses. All this is unnecessary with aperture preferred mechanisms since the lenses always stops down as far as set on the barrel. Now, with some of the more advanced systems which do shutter preferred after the lens is stopped down and might, then, set a different shutter speed than you specified (but one that gets the exposure right), the issue becomes moot.
