(1) The story about controlling the weather by doing things on the sun is

(2) The Illuminatus! trilogy is

	2  The Golden Apple
	3 Leviathan

    and was written by Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson

    It is of course pure fiction, there is no secret global conspiracy
    controlling everything
