Sometimes it works out that way, just because LT is a *very* good way to really get to know somebody. Sometimes people who live together do get married, just as sometimes people who date each other get married. BM is not necessarily a stronger commitment than LT. It depends on the circumstances. Some people might enter a LT arrangement for simple financial reasons, or convenience (but I guess the same could be said for BM). In other cases, people are LT because of a commitment to each other, or to some common ideal. I have lived with other people, and I have lived alone. The others came one-at-a-time, or in formal communal situations, or in less structured :-) groups. I have been married. BM, for me, did not last as long as my typical LT arrangement. Right now I am living alone, because that's easier (but not more fun). Some of my best friends are LT :-). Some are married after living with each other or with me or others.
