Its disgraceful but I see the problem. You must never put too much weight on a relationship because that is when it is most likely to fail. I am not saying you did wrong but I am just saying : beware of GRADIENTS! When something wierd happens good or bad, ride the curve (or spike) and smooth it : ie never get taken in to a feeling without safeguards.
