Lines: 51 I'm posting this for a friend, who obviously has a bad problem, in the hope that MamaLiz will be able to help him, and any other netters with the same problem. -----------------------begin forwarded message--------------------------- Dear MamaLiz, We just got a new machine where I work. The vendor's field service engineer now assigned to our site turned out to be competent and knowledgeable, and also happened to be a strikingly gorgeous woman. I fell in love almost immediately. Being in the same room with her made me feel young again... I was actually elated when technical problems arose that made the installation of the machine take three days. I found myself making excuses to steal into the room where she was working, just to spend some time with her. Hearing her talk of voltage spikes and power conditioning brought back yearnings I haven't felt since my college days. I felt a sinking sadness when the machine was installed and she returned to her normal schedule - away from me... But there was still the scheduled PM. I began to live for these sessions. Unfortunately, they only happened every three months. I fought to get a monthly PM contract, even a bi-weekly, to no avail; I couldn't really justify the expense. But seeing her only every three months was not enough. So then my problems began. It started out small at first. One night, after everyone had gone home, and the system had been backed up, I blocked one of the cooling ducts with some trash PhysPlant had left there - they had been known to do such things themselves in the past. The machine soon stopped itself when it got too hot. When this happens, FS has to come in to check the machine. The next morning I got to see my favorite CE... I didn't want to use the same ploy twice, so the next time I opened up the back of the machine and tweaked the power supply voltage so the next day it went under the threshold and brought the machine down again. She was there in a matter of hours... I've been trying to resist the temptation to do such things again, but it's getting harder and harder. I don't dare tell anyone about this. I'm scared that I'm not going to be able to stop. I must not be the only one with this problem - surely you have some idea what I can do. Please, please help me! gratefully awaiting your advice, Overcome by the Field Service Blues --------------------------------------------------------------------------- For all I know, the events depicted in the above passages may or may not be true, and in any case have no relation to Rutgers University.
