Here is a great desk accessory called Extras...

It allows you to change the default disk, delete a file, find out about free
space on all online disks, check the free memory, all in one accessory!

Apart from a small kluge to make it work properly with MacPaint (which most
people will never notice), the programmer seems to have done a fine job.
