Pulling some data from an old C/FO newsletter, here are the original dates for some of the old animated shows discussed here recently: Tetsuwan Atom(Mighty Atom)/Astro Boy - (b/w) - 1/63 - 12/66,193 episodes (c) - 10/80 - 12/81,52 episodes The title was changed because the U.S. already had a "Mighty Atom" comic book character. Tetsujin 28/Gigantor - 1st series (b/w) - 10/63 - 5/67, 96 episodes - 2nd series (c) - 10/80 - 9/81, 51 episodes Only the black and white, '60's series for these two ever made it over here. Eighth Man - (b/w) - 11/63 - 12/64, 56 episodes These were the first three tv cartoons made in Japan. Jungle Taitei(Jungle Emperor)/Kimba - 10/65 - 9/66, 52 episodes 10/66 - 3/67, 26 episodes their first color cartoon. The second series, with Kimba as an adult, was not shown in the U.S. Mary Anne Espenshade ...!seismo!umcp-cs!aplvax!mae
