   We recently acquired a good old reliable PDP 11/40, and we intend to
make the best use out of it as the developmet system for a computer we
are building. Now, being spoiled with Vax and Unix 4.2 BSD, it is hard
to return to the Version 6 (with V7 enhancements); to top that the 
machine does not have vi (can life be that hard???). 
   The hardware we have include virtual memory, two 20M Hard disks and
100K on board RAM. The CPU is licenced, so we will not have problems
porting software. Now, is there any vi (or stripped down version thereof)
for our machine?  If anyone has information about this please send mail
to one of the addresses below. Any other reasonable screen 
based editor would be desirable if there is no vi available somewhere.
