I can testify to the picture quality: good, saturated color, nice crisp detail; so crisp, in fact, that you see jaggies on, for example, oblique basketball court lines. The discounted price is a matter for speculation, of course, but Whole Earth Access in Berkeley assures me that they're getting them, and they always discount, say, 20%.
