A friend who is an EE but is otherwise new to the subject recently
concocted a hardware design that he thinks will simulate a synapse.
It involves non-trivial hardware design and probably software also,
but as a favor I'm posting this.

Does anyone know of any previous work in hardware or software simulation
of (a) synapse(s) or references to such work?  Any and all rumor,
speculation, and even fact is welcome.  Please mail responses to me
