She will be coming to this area to be admitted to Stanford hospital shortly. She is adopted and doesn't know who her biological parents are. In the event she needs a transplant, what happens? How do the proper athorities contact the biological relitives? What kind of emotional impact will this have on her, her biological parents, and her adopted parents? Is there a such thing as an anonymous doner, and if so, could something like that be set up in this situation? Does the life threatening situation make a possible reunion easier or harder? It'd be good to get some insight into this ahead of time as my SO is going to volunteer to help out (babysitting, etc) while her friend is here and I will necessarily have to get involved as well.
