A little while ago, I wrote to this newsgroup asking for
advice on Japanese equipment.

My brother-in-law (the marine) is going to WESTPAC and
will have the advantage of bringing home Japanese 
equipment really cheap.  So I asked if anyone had
any suggestions as to high-end Japanese equipment.

i now know why I got little response.  there is very little
truly high end Japanese equipment.  Some intense shopping
has led me to the following selections.  Any suggestions or
comments will be most welcome.

I have:  Speakers:   Vandersteen 2C
	 TapeDeck:   Nakamichi BX-2

I would like to get from Japan:
	 PowerAmp:   Denon POA-1500
	 Cartridge:  Shinon ??
		     Signet ??
	 Tonearm:    Sumiko Premiere MMT
	 CD ??:      Nakamichi
		     Denon
		     NAD

I will wait to buy here:
	 Pre Amp:    P-S Auddio
		     Apt
	 Turntable:  Thorens ??
		     Harmon-Kardon ??

Any other suggestions or comments are most welcome.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gary at Stereo
Unlimited in San Diego for being the only retailer in SD not
to tell me where to go when I told him my story about Japan.
I strongly recommend his store, and suggest that anyone interestd
in high end shop there
