Message-ID: <567@houxu.UUCP> Date: Tue, 12-Mar-85 09:18:50 EST Article-I.D.: houxu.567 Posted: Tue Mar 12 09:18:50 1985 Date-Received: Wed, 13-Mar-85 00:47:06 EST Distribution: net.general Organization: AT&T Bell Labs, Holmdel NJ Lines: 15 At first I posted this to net.auto nj distribution only, but on second thought I think it might be of interest to the net. I heard that thought I AMC and Renault are splitting and this will be the last year that AMC will sell/make Renaults. What are the implications here, pro and con? I can think of several: Orphan car, hard/impossible to get out of warranty service, poor to no resale value. On the other hand: if Renault is right and they continue to successfully sell in the U.S. market this could be a desireable automobile, the last year they assembled them here, etc. However this is all speculation. Anypone else heard about the split? I think this is a juicy issue to hash out on the net. What's your opinion? Art Steinman Path..houxu!ahs
