I also read Remar Sutton's book before buying my '83 Dodge Rampage.
It not only gave me a good set of tactics to use in dealing with
the salesman, it also has a wealth of information on figuring out
the car you can "afford to buy."  Since this was my first car
purchase, it helped me figure out what I wanted to spend, how much
I wanted to pay per month, and what car I could afford in that range.
It also talks about car loans, what you pay for loans, etc.

Definitely a must read for car purchasers!
