I can't think of anything I've seen that I would trade it for (except maybe a North Face Brooks Range down jacket ($300). Down's not for everyone though. I've taken great pains to keep mine in tip-top shape -- that's why it's lasted so long (plus North Face's incredible quality: they recently put a new zipper on it for me for free). One thing that flames me about thinsulate is the advertisements that say it's a more efficient insulator than down -- they are comparing insulation per thickness, not weight.
