Asparagus is in season now, though, and only for the next few months so eat lots of it! A very easy way to make asparagus: Break the bottom end off (if it's good asparagus, it should snap nicely about 1/3 from the bottom). Cut on the diagonal into 1" or so pieces (if you like, you can pare off the tough skin if you have thick spears). Throw some butter in a skillet (or margarine if you prefer). Saute about two minutes (don't overcook it, please!). Sprinkle with soy sauce and a little sugar, cook another 15 sec. or so, and serve.
