The -e switch does in fact produce non-EIS code, but you still get the standard
library when you link the program, which I figured needed EIS because the
program wouldn't run on an 11/04, even when compiled with -e.  I phoned
Whitesmiths and told them about my problem, and they said they were working
on a non-EIS library, but that was over a year ago and I still haven't seen it.
