The major daily in the state, the Manchester Union Leader (which I'm sure Ken has a lifetime subscription to) shows a "media bias" somewhere about 2 millimeters to the left of Lyndon LaRouche. It includes a column called "Armed Citizen" and prints a prayer on the front page every day, and regularly prints columns by Phyllis Schlafly (doesn't she know a woman's place is in the home?). In this morning's (March 14) paper, a front page editorial by that venerable political watchdog, publisher Nackey Loeb, suggested that the Soviets killed Chernenko so the transfer of power to Gorbachev would give the Americans false hopes for a Soviet policy change entering the arms talks. Sorry I can't provide the full text, the paper belonged to a co-worker and made for some interesting talk at lunch time (maybe Ken can post it and show us the truth). The fact remains, Ken's viewpoints (if not necessarily his style) aren't far from the mainstream in a state whose motto is "Live Free or Die". Regarding working at this facility (yes, I'm at the same location as Ken Arndt, but a different building), it's a good place to work with many good people (some of whom are of Ken's ideological frame of mind). You can work here and never meet him (I haven't)! Although I can only think of one issue I agree with Ken on, I think he has both provided and provoked many of the most entertaining flames recently, and I hope he continues to do so (along with his adversaries). He does have a point about people taking him too seriously; by now we should all realize that nothing he says should be taken seriously (emacs users: do a (re-replace-string "[.,;?!]" ":-)&") on his articles before reading). Personally, I live in Massachusetts and commute over the border (which in New Hampshire is considered grounds for incarceration in the nearest hospital for the criminally insane). There you go, Ken; flame away! Note my avoidance of that unmentionable wimpy-pinko-liberal-Democratic-sissy symbol throughout - y'all can tell what's serious and what isn't, can't you? Keep flamin' Mike Ryan
