One that made me laugh out loud was a scarecrow that looks like Reagan. On it are sitting crows. One says to the other: "It doesn't scare away crows, but there isn't a farmer within 50 miles." Another rib tickler was a cartoon of a group sitting around a table with little placards reading "allies." Reagan is standing on the table shoving a missle down the throat of the person sitting at the place labled "New Zeland." The caption is "it's customary to swallow and smile." Across the page a cartoon shows two terrified looking Russians watching as Reagan whips a person tied to a rack labeled "New Zeland" the caption is "if that's how he treats his allies, just think of what he would do to us!" I have no affiliation with the Comic News, it is a free paper ("The jokes on us") here in Santa Cruz. It recounts the news of the previous two weeks in political cartoons with a liberal sprinkling of Gary Larson's "Far Side" cartoons. It has started taking subscriptions, 1 year, 24 issues for $7.50: Comic News Subscriptions 317 Ceder Suite 13 Santa Cruz, CA 95060 Politics is sort of a joke anyway, and as a humor junky a bi-weekly review of the news in comics helps me put it all in perspective (besides providing some substantial chuckles). -- scc!steiny Don Steiny - Personetics @ (408) 425-0382 ihnp4!pesnta -\ 109 Torrey Pine Terr. ucbvax!twg --> scc!steiny Santa Cruz, Calif. 95060 fortune!idsvax -/
