I would just like you to know that I did not make up that lie myself -- I read it in Byte: Apple implemented Smalltalk for the Lisa but never released it; "It's too slow," Tesler said, "and its syntax is too different for most people." Byte, Dec. 1984, p. 398 Now, I guess that quote doesn't actually say that Smalltalk wasn't released BECAUSE it was too slow. It only says Smalltalk wasn't released AND it was too slow.
