I suspect you've got a DIP switch set wrong, probably the auto line feed switch. I don't know if easywriter is smart enough to cope with a printer set up for half line feeds, but if so you can make the Prowriter work this way by sending it an escape sequence to change the carriage advance increment and then doing *two* linefeeds after each except when super- or subscripting.
