In any event, just wait until the patent runs out... One might also note that batteries have to be charged from somewhere, presumably power plants, so energy companies would not be seriously hurt by battery-powered cars in the USA. And they could make a bundle licensing the patent. Some Oil Company Conspiracy tales don't make loads of sense.
