Lines: 13 The movie was NOT as true to the book as it could be. The movie does not deal with Garp's repeated infidelities, which were a big reason for his wife's affair. The movie does not show his contributions to their marital problems, but portrays him as a victim, with the wife as the "bad guy" in the relationship. This completely distorted their relationship, and altered the Grap character. This was the one part of the movie I found to be irritating and offensive; they did such a good job on the rest I can't understand why they tampered with such a crucial point. Pat Valdata pyuxh!nosmo
