It appears on EJ's album "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" (MCA 2-10003) which came out in 1973 (jeez, was that really 12 years ago?). The subject matter is iindeed Marilyn Monroe. Seems to me that Rolling Stone mentioned this song in its review of the album in The Rolling Stone Record Guide (the 1978 version?), noting that it was almost embarrassing to listen to, but somehow strangely compelling. -jns
