I haven't followed this discussion on toilet
training cats too much.  But I have a comment.

Having a toiet trianed cat means having a toilet
let is always open.  I mean the door to the bathroom is open
and the lid is up.

This can be a very bad situation if there are toddlers at home.
The number of deaths by toilet drowning is to large to be ignored.

Even though my wife wanted to toilet train the cats I would not
allow it because we have a new baby.
