Being a law-abiding type (or, at any rate, one who knows not to drive
when approaching intoxicated), I instead submit the following distances:

From Grafton, North Dakota  (the intersection of Canada, North Dakota, and
Minnesota is a good approximation) to St. Olaf College (a hop from
Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota) is approximately 1.5 l. coffee.

The Twin Cities to St. Olaf, by the way, is precisely two large Slurpee's
except that there isn't a convenient rest stop, which one invariably needs
with two large Slurpee's.

Grafton (as above) to the Red Lodge, Montana area is more liquid than can 
conveniently purchased and kept warm/cool en route.

The Twin Cities to Urbana, Illinois is two l. coffee, two large Slurpee's,
a couple Coke's, and a jar of dry roasted cashews...
