BY THE WAY WHICH I'VE DONE. The first reason was to find out my physical heritage such as nationality. Then do you realize how fustrating it is to walk into a doctors office and have him ask you your families medical history, and tell him I don't know? MAKES ONE SOUND STUPID, AND OUT OF PLACE. Another reason is just to meat new-old people that played an important role in your life, and appreciate them for it. AFTER ALL I WOULDN'T BE HERE IF IT WASN'T FOR THEM!!!! It's also more than likely a great relief to the bio mother that her child is doing fine. And if not, there's another that might get through to him or her if there's some emotional or other healing that might be needed. THE CATERING TO MOTHERLY INSTINCT. Also there is, whether people face it or not, a greater identity crises of adoptees who don't know where they came from but knowing that the people they grew up with aren't from the same bloodline. This sets up a normal natural barrier between the adoptive parents and adoptee, that will nine times out of teen crumble once the adoptee figures out and comes to grip with the circumstances of his - her adoption. A biblical principle : YOU SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH, AND IT SHALL SET YOU FREE. Gives you a greater peace of mind, once U understand. ============================================================================ Ed
