Most of the females/women/girls/gals did not express a preference for being called one thing or the other; just being considered on their own merits as human beings. I myself do not care whether I am called man/boy/guy/male/hey you. I do prefer my name ("Rich!" gets my attention far faster than "hey you man!" ever would). Now I suppose this debate has to degenerate into the "quality" of the person. That is, even if one does not care if he is called man/male/boy/guy, that does not necessarily equate with "gentleman," nor does "woman" equate with "lady." Personally, that is the ONLY place where I ponder the title before using the word...
