Lines: 19 (I do not believe) I will occasionally call a woman girl as in "Girl, you don't really want to do that." This is a street idiom I picked up in my youth, I only speak it with very close friends who understand the context, take it as a friendly, affectionate gesture, and will not be offended. It means, I love you, I can be young with you, hey, lets be young together. Mike calls me "Woman." Sometimes he will just stare at me and say "woman". I take this as one of his highest complements...took me a long time to grow into the woman I am now. I find that I use the term woman for students whom I respect and all females over the age of 21. When speaking of really ditzy coeds, I will probably call them girls. Woman is something you grow into. -- liz sommers uucp: ...{harvard, seismo, ut-sally, sri-iu, ihnp4!packard}!topaz!sommers arpa: sommers@rutgers
