My parents were there a couple of years ago and compared to Florida,Bremuda and Barbados the thing they most observed was the lack of commercialism. Of course there were still the beach front resorts and the like but the area wasn't all dedicated to tourism. All in all they were impressed with the slow laid back sort of atmosphere generated by the people. And then again this is only my second hand opinion.
