It is a real problem with taste, and the icky stuff seems
to be the active ingredient (which is sometimes all that is
in the tube).  Take it away, and you have a nice cherry-flavored
lubricant that is otherwise ineffective.

A suggestion: don't put the tube in the same cabinet as the
toothpaste, and for HEAVEN'S sake don't brush your teeth in the dark!
