Schafer | > +----------------+ I used to keep a condom in my wallet; over time, it made a nice O shape in the wallet which was visible on the outside. However, since I was aware of the deterioration problem, I'd take the condom out after a month or so and put in a fresh one (that is, if I hadn't already replaced it). As a test, I'd blow up the old one like a balloon, until it was at least 3 feet in size; I never had any problem with one breaking or losing air from this treatment (of course, I threw it away afterwards), so I always figured that the month it had spent in my wallet left it in fairly good condition. (If someone has good reason to think differently, please post--I'd like to know if I'm mistaken.) Of course, your mileage may vary. Your wallet and how you carry it could make a big difference. And I agree that if you can possibly avoid using your wallet to keep condoms in, do so--in fact, an ideal place might be the refrigerator (warm them before use :-) ). Latex deteriorates over time under the best of circumstances. -Ed Hall decvax!randvax!edhall
