Just passing on a few items that I've accumalated.

It was announced by the Commisioner's Office that the Mets and Gaylord
Broadcasting Co. (which recently purchased an interest in the Rangers)
have agreed to share cable revenues with other teams at the same level
as that agreed to earlier by the Yankees and Braves.  Now only the
Cubs have not yet agreed to pay other teams for broadcasting into
their regions.

New York City and the Mets have recently reached agreement on the Shea
renovation project.  It will cost $36,000,000 (cost overruns to be
born by the construction company which, incidentally, is owned by one
of the club's owners) and includes provisions for luxury boxes, new
restrooms, closing the stands off from the wind, etc.  Missing from
the final agreement was an earlier proposal to install artificial
turf...

I came across a copy of the Sporting News' predictions for the '85
season.  Each was derived by polling the reporters for each league
(one per city).  The results are below, with number of first place
votes parenthesized.
