I've been hearing a lot of conjecture lately on how Kirk and party are
supposed to get out of their predicament this time.  My questions are:

1) Shouldn't they have (or be able to get) political asylum on Vulcan?
2) Sarek has pull; is there any way he can intervene?  After all the
decision to quarantine Genesis was made by the Federation Council... Sarek
is influential member of the council... exceptions can be made... can't they?
