Yes, the female characters in the TV series were 'blurry'. They were filmed with a 'soft filter'. (Any photography nut wanna tell us exactly what that is?) I presume this was done to make them more feminine, as opposed to the 'harsh', sharply focused men. I remember reading this in one of the Star Trek books.
