At the end of the show (except that it usually gets editted out) the Federation sends a (late) message to Jim that says that it's okay for him to take Spock to Vulcan. Besides, aren't Vulcan rituals and other such things very private affairs. The Vulcans, from what I understand, are a little embarassed by whatever the name of the ritual Spock was doing because they lose their cool and logical Vulcan exterior and tend to act very emotional and kill Captains and good stuff like that. If so, I have my doubts about whether his grandma or whoever the chick was would attempt to explain to the Federation council. How is Jim going to explain that he knew Spock was alive. How is he going to explain that he knew Spock's soul was kept in Bones? Remember that telepathy (or other extrasensory perception kinds of stuff) is NOT admissable as evidence. What hard evidencedid Jimmy have to go out there? Anyone have any shots? Again, let me emphasize that I'm not condemning Jim. I'm sure there is a way out of it that we all haven't seen. Something will be done to get Jimmy-boy out of the mess he's in, and I can't wait to see what it is. As David Gerrold so aptly put it, "We don't tune in to see whether the hero is going to escape. We KNOW he's going to escape; That's why he's the hero. We just wanbt to see how." -- Peter Merchant
