Where I come from, U-matic recorders/players use 3/4" tape, which it
what the JVC U-matic machines use.  One inch tape is normally on reel-
to-reel and is VERY expensive to have and use.  One inch is becoming the
new standard of the TV industry, replacing the old 2" quad machines.
