The three 2579 lines are now, once again, all capable of 1200 baud. Our new super-fast modem has come, and is now on 5121, freeing up one of the more mundane modems to replace the ailing one. 5121 is now capable of handling dial-in not only at 300 and 1200, but at 2400 baud as well. However, note that an ordinary 1200-baud modem cannot handle 2400, so anyone wanting to dial in at 2400 will have to shell out yet again for a new modem. Note, as before, that 5121 is off-limits after midnight, when it is reserved for network use. -- Henry Spencer @ U of Toronto Zoology {allegra,ihnp4,linus,decvax}!utzoo!henry
