I've decided to do it myself. My car is the type 10 coupe with the "cockpit" type console. The trim plate looks like it should just pull off, but several attempts at gently removing it have left me wondering if there aren't some hidden screws. My owners manual of course has nothing about this, but says that I can send away for a service manual for $19.95. Has anyone installed a stereo in a type 10? If you have please mail me the info I need. If anyone has the 1985 service manual I would appreciate it if you could check and see what the deal is with installing the unit. Its not that I don't want to buy a manual but I would have to mail away for it and God knows how long it would take to get to me. Meanwhile my stereo is sitting in the box and I want to install it. I checked with a local place that installs them and they wanted $60!! I also checked with my dealer and he was no help, as expected. He said I could go to the service department and look at their manual. Yeah, right. Thanks for any and all help. Art Steinman Path..houxu!ahs
