After some remarks about not wanting to forget the Holocaust, but wanting the visit to "look to the future of peace and sharing with the German people," Mr Reagan added this fascinating observation: "I felt that, since the German people have very few alive that remember even the war, and certainly none of them who were adults and participating in any way, they have a feeling and a guilt feeling that's been imposed upon them." Do you suppose the president really thinks that there's nobody left over 60 in West Germany? Or could he be getting his First and Second World Wars confused? After all, he was around for both of them.
