Anyway, to the point. The term "Sloane Ranger" comes from a book written a few years ago called "...sloane ranger..." (I don't remember the exact title). I'm almost certain the term wasn't around before this. The reason why Sloane Rangers are called Sloane Rangers is because they're favourite habitat is Sloane Square. They are also to be found in Knightsbridge, Barnes, Mayfair and Belgravia, as well as anywhere else there is parking space for a land_rover.
