Speaking of real... I believe that the Apollo 13 explosion was due
to a ruptured gas tank.  The filaments of a spherical tank failed,
the bladder matrix ruptured and the side of the craft was breached.

However, of all references to start out a discussion of fuel cells,
why pick on an explosive failure only circumstantially related to
fuel cells?  Further, that was 17 or so years ago.  I believe the
devices have improved since then.

Does this really belong in net.misc???
