	     Indian Broadcasting Service formed
	   --------------------------------------

	The central government has decided to constitute a
	central service called the Indian Broadcasting Service.
	The new service would have separate cadres for AIR
	and Doordarshan and separate sub-cadres within the 
	media to meet the needs of programme management and 
	production functions. It is expected that the proposed
	service would offer scope for individual officers to
	achieve specialization according to their personal 
	preferences.
