Lines: 17 When I was steadily "dating" (Yuck! what a dumb word) my last heavy-duty, we split the price of our outings according to a principle known as "income differential". She made about $18,000/yr and I made about $32,000/yr. Our tabs were split so that she paid about 35% and I paid about 65%. In this way, we did NOT establish anyone as "provider", addressed the socio-economic issues concerning comparable pay, and never had to fight about money!!! Try it sometime. It generally won't fly until you have been seeing each other a bit and can talk about such things comfortably, but my experience tells me it sucessfully banishes the usual money-games that plague otherwise enjoyable outings (and relationships). ----- Jorge Gustavson {ucbvax!sun, pesnta}!parallel!jorge "I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..."
