Why snuggling is more important to women than men Well, since men have a higher surface temperature then women (this has been checked out empirically -- most men are warmer than I am) women who snuggled stayed warmer at night, avoided colds, and generally had an evolutionary advantage over women who didn't. Unfortunately, many men simply rolled away so in frustration women started wrapping the covers around themselves, using all the covers to make a cocoon. At this point, men suddenly had a reason to snuggle; it's real hard (like topologically impossible) to wrap all the covers around you when you are being held. But the bottom line is that women snuggle to GET something (warmth) while men snuggle to AVOID something (no covers).... :-) ............ Patty
