This may be a sign of the female appetite. I usually eat until I'm satisfied, NOT until I've finished everything on my plate because then I'd be stuffed. (It took me a long time to learn how to do this, but that is another story.) I find that the correct portion for me is usually around 1/4 to 1/2 of what they serve you in restaurants, unless it is a nouvelle cuisine restaurant where I can usually eat everything on my plate and the bread basket and still be hungry. Just because I can't fit very much in my stomach doesn't mean that I want a salad. I weigh 115 lbs. which means that I shouldn't eat as much food as my 185 lb. date, or my 200 lb. brother. Why? Because I don't want to weigh 185 or 200 lbs. The extra weight would look pretty funny on me. My solution? I give the rest of my food to my date (can be awkward on a first date) or to my brother (I refer to him as my garbage disposal). Or else I bring it home in a doggy bag. (I never throw good food away.) And I always let my date know I appreciated the good food and company, usually by planning a special evening and cooking something extravagant in return (Veau Marsala or Filet Bearnaise, Chocolate Mousse, etc). -- Spike {decvax,ucbvax,ihnp4}!sdcsvax!sdcc6!calmasd!stj
