The book, "HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE", is most useful for learning to work (and play) well with acquaintances, especially business acquaintances. No problem here; many hackers would benefit from improved "people skills". It is of limited usefulness for people who want to better understand American conventions and etiquette for romantic relations with members of the opposite sex. I know of one small publisher that specializes in books advising men on dealing with potential lovers. Write to this address to ask for a free catalog: SYMPHONY PRESS DEPT. CTL P.O.
