"us" and "we" may be deemed to refer to the many who responded to your
posting. . .or weren't you paying attention?

You know lots of "female persons" who don't like being called women.  I
know lots of "female persons" who don't like being called anything but.
One would hope that a little judgement in a situation would suffice, but
then, one might hope for snow in summer in your case, too.  Thank goodness
I can have a little more optimism in my own case.  I tend to call people
what they prefer to be called.  I even ask.
